Age UK - Harvest Gift

LGS Staff and Students generously brought boxfuls of food to school today for our Harvest Assembly.  During the service we gave thanks for all God’s gifts through prayer, song and our harvest collection of food.

Towards the end of the brief service, led my Mr James and Mrs Ewington, Ken Garner, from Age UK spoke briefly about the people who would benefit from our gift.

Ken said; ‘Some of the food will be used to cook three course meals for over 150 older people who visit our day centres.  The rest will be parcelled into small treats or gifts for them to take home after catching up with their friends at the centre’.

Ken also reminded us, that older people are very special, and that our gift will help to look after them.  After the service students from the Chapel Team helped Ken to load his van with all the food gifts we had generously brought to school.
